Man Brutally Murdered in West Delhi over Love Affair, Body Identified by Police Posters

New Delhi, December 25 (PTI) – In a shocking incident, a man was brutally killed and his face disfigured with stones in West Delhi’s Vikaspuri area, as a result of a love affair gone wrong. The local police reported the incident on Monday, highlighting the gruesome nature of the crime.

The victim’s identity remained a mystery due to the severe disfigurement of his face and the absence of any identification documents. In an effort to identify the deceased, the police initiated a poster campaign, displaying his image and relevant details in the vicinity.

On December 20, the victim was identified as Sachin Maurya, who had been reported missing by his concerned family. Their attention was drawn to a poster near the Nihal Vihar drain, prompting them to approach the police with the information.

Following an extensive investigation, the police arrested two suspects in connection with the murder. The accused were identified as Pawan Tiwari, aged 35, and Pawan Singh, aged 25. Notably, Tiwari had a criminal history, with involvement in approximately 20 cases related to the Arms Act and theft.

The victim, Sachin Maurya, was found lifeless on December 16, the same day he had gone missing. His body was discovered near the boundary wall of Keshopur Industrial Area DDA Park in Vikaspuri, which is located over 6 kilometers away from his residence in Ranhola. The assailants had ruthlessly smashed his face with stones to hinder identification.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vichitra Veer revealed that during the course of the investigation, it was unveiled that Sachin had been involved in a romantic relationship. Further inquiry disclosed that Pawan Tiwari, residing in Sachin’s neighborhood, was also closely associated with the same girl.

Enraged by the girl’s relationship with Sachin, Pawan Tiwari meticulously plotted the murder. The investigation team utilized technical surveillance and local intelligence to track down Pawan Tiwari. Subsequently, another suspect, Pawan Singh, who happened to be a friend of Pawan Tiwari, was also found to be complicit in the heinous crime.

Both suspects were apprehended from the local fish market on December 22. During their arrest, the police recovered the victim’s purse from their possession, providing crucial evidence in the case.

This shocking incident serves as a grim reminder of the potential consequences of love affairs gone awry. The police’s swift action in identifying the victim and apprehending the culprits highlights their commitment to justice and maintaining law and order in the area.
