A man arrested in Bocaue, Bulacan for manufacturing illegal firecrackers

A man involved in manufacturing illegal firecrackers was apprehended by the police in Bocaue, Bulacan on Sunday, December 24, 2023. The suspect, a 38-year-old resident of Sitio Bihonan, Barangay Biñang 1st, Bocaue, Bulacan, was caught red-handed in the act of producing illegal firecrackers.

According to the report submitted to Bulacan Police Director Col. Relly B. Arnedo, the suspect was unable to present a license, permit, and other necessary documents during the arrest.

The authorities confiscated various illegal firecrackers and related materials from the suspect. These included two pieces of Judas Belt, four packs of Kabase (each pack containing 10 pieces), four packs of Plapla (each pack containing 10 pieces), 10 pieces of Kingkong, and other paraphernalia used in the production of firecrackers. The total market value of the confiscated items amounted to P4,120.

A criminal complaint is currently being prepared against the suspect before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor Office for violation of Republic Act (RA) 7183. This law, known as “An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture and Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Device,” prohibits the unauthorized production and distribution of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.

In a separate operation, the tracker team of the City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) police station apprehended a 45-year-old individual named “Jemly” for Large-Scale Illegal Recruitment.

Meanwhile, authorities from San Rafael, Bustos, Hagonoy, and Baliwag City police stations responded to different crime incidents that resulted in the arrest of five lawbreakers. The individuals identified as “Roel” (28) from San Rafael, “Josell” (23) from Bustos Heights, Bonga Mayor, Bustos, “Adrian” (45) from Hagonoy, and “Gerry” (31) from Brgy. San Roque, San Rafael, were all apprehended for the crime of frustrated homicide.

Additionally, an 18-year-old named “Arjay” from Brgy. Catmon, Santa Maria, was arrested for violating the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act (RA 7610).
