A Fatality Reported in Mt. Healthy Crash

A tragic incident occurred in Mt. Healthy overnight on Monday, resulting in the death of a male driver. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies swiftly responded to a single-car collision that took place in the 8000 block of Hamilton Avenue.

Initial investigations revealed that the driver was traveling at an excessive speed in a northbound direction on Hamilton Avenue. Unfortunately, the vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway, ultimately crashing into the parking lot of a nearby gas station, before colliding with a tree. The impact of the collision proved fatal, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased driver has been identified as Ronnell Payne, a 30-year-old individual. Tragically, Payne was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to road safety guidelines, including wearing seatbelts, which can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in case of an accident.
