Accident – death – Obituary News : Fatal Clash Erupts in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly as Farmers Fight Over Straying Animals

In a tragic incident, a heated dispute over animals straying into agricultural fields took a deadly turn in Khajuwahi village, located in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district. The altercation resulted in the untimely demise of one farmer, Nanhey Lal, while two others, Surjeet Singh and Mukesh, sustained severe injuries. The injured farmers are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital, where doctors have confirmed their stable condition.

The local police have identified Nanhey Lal as the deceased farmer who suffered fatal head injuries during the violent attack. The authorities have already conducted the post-mortem examination, and the report is now awaited to shed light on the exact cause of death.

Mukesh Chandra Mishra, the Additional Superintendent of Police in Bareilly, informed that the case has been registered against three individuals on charges of murder and attempted murder. The police have also taken one of the accused, mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR), into custody for further questioning. An ongoing investigation is underway to unravel the complete sequence of events and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Deep Chand, the Station House Officer at Visharatganj police station, shared that the complainant, Veerpal Singh, informed the police about the continuous menace caused by stray animals damaging their crops at night. Consequently, Veerpal’s brothers, Nanhey Lal, Surjeet Singh, and Mukesh, had taken up residence in a hut situated in the field to protect the crops from further destruction.

On the fateful night, the stray animals once again encroached upon the agricultural land. Nanhey Lal promptly alerted his companions, and together they managed to drive the creatures away. However, the animals then moved into the neighboring field owned by the accused individuals, who were also guarding their own crops.

Enraged by this intrusion, the accused, namely Gabbar, Shivkumar, and an unidentified relative, stormed into the victims’ hut and launched a violent attack using sticks. By the time Veerpal arrived at the scene, the assailants had already fled. Veerpal and his relatives immediately rushed the injured farmers to the hospital, but, tragically, Nanhey Lal succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.

A formal complaint has been filed at Visharatganj police station against Gabbar, Shivkumar, and their unidentified relative, charging them with murder and attempted murder. Initially, there was some confusion regarding which police station held jurisdiction over the case. However, senior officers intervened and directed Visharatganj police to handle the investigation.

This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the growing tensions and conflicts arising from the intrusion of stray animals into agricultural lands. It highlights the urgent need for effective measures to mitigate such issues and safeguard the livelihoods of farmers.
