Ocala Police Department Offers $5,000 Reward for Information on Paddock Mall Shooting Suspect

ORLANDO, Fla — The Ocala Police Department is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who provides information on the location of Albert Shell Jr. that leads to his arrest. Shell Jr. has an arrest warrant for premeditated first-degree murder and attempted premeditated first-degree murder during the deadly Paddock Mall shooting.

As a result, a heavy police presence was immediately established at the scene.

The Ocala Police Department received an emergency call reporting a shooting at Paddock Mall on Saturday afternoon. However, upon investigation, it was determined that there was no active shooter. Nevertheless, a shooting had taken place within the premises of the mall.

During the incident, one adult male was found dead in a common area, while a woman suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The deceased victim has been identified as David Nathaniel Barron, aged 40.

In a news release, the Ocala Police Department expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized its commitment to bringing the perpetrator to justice. They also believe that the shooting may have been a targeted attack.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Ocala Fire Rescue, Marion County Fire Rescue, and the Highway Patrol, responded to the incident at Paddock Mall, providing support and assistance.
