Initial jail records indicated that Switalski was held on $2 million bail, but the amount was later increased to $10 million. The motive behind the crime is yet to be determined as investigators continue their efforts to gather evidence and piece together the events leading to Aguilar’s tragic demise.

The incident unfolded on Wednesday, December 20, when firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle fire at Switalski’s residence. Prior to the fire, neighbors reported hearing a chilling scream believed to be from Aguilar in the early hours of the morning. Shortly after, an explosion was heard, followed by the blaze that engulfed multiple vehicles.

Once the flames were extinguished, responders made the grim discovery of Aguilar’s lifeless body inside the trunk. The shocking nature of the incident sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community of Lancaster.

Switalski initially drew attention as a person of interest and was sought for questioning. However, he was located in Kern County and subsequently arrested on murder charges. The authorities are still actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Aguilar’s death, hoping to uncover the truth and find justice for the victim.

As the investigation continues, the community is left in shock and mourning over the loss of a beloved schoolteacher. The tragic event serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and the importance of supporting one another during such challenging times.
