Tragedy Strikes as Man Sets Sister-in-Law Ablaze in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal:

A shocking incident unfolded in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh, where a man brutally attacked his sister-in-law, Nirmala, pouring petrol on her and setting her on fire. This horrific act resulted in Nirmala’s untimely demise due to severe burn injuries.

The unfortunate incident follows the suicide of Nirmala’s husband, Prakash, six months ago. Blaming Nirmala for her alleged role in Prakash’s suicide, his elder brother, Suresh, developed a deep-rooted grudge against her.

Despite the tragedy, Nirmala found herself living with her two children at her in-laws’ residence. However, her brother-in-law’s animosity towards her continued to escalate, fueled by his belief that she was responsible for his younger brother’s death.

On a dreadful Saturday, Suresh physically assaulted Nirmala, dragging her out of the house. In a horrifying turn of events, he proceeded to douse her with petrol and set her ablaze. Tragically, Nirmala succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

Nirmala’s brother, devastated by the news, shared the chilling details, saying, “We received a call from Suresh informing us that they had set my sister on fire. He always blamed her for our brother’s death. They constantly threatened to end her life.”

“Today was the day I planned to bring her back home when they called to inform us that they had killed her,” he added, grief-stricken.

The local police have taken swift action and arrested Suresh in connection with the heinous crime.
