Tragic Accident Claims Life in Marathon County Crash

HATLEY — In a devastating incident on Saturday night, a fatal crash occurred in Marathon County, resulting in the loss of a precious life. The accident took place at approximately 8:40 p.m. on State 29, near Hatley and State 49. The Wisconsin State Patrol reported that a GMC Envoy, traveling west on 29, collided with a stationary GMC W4500 straight truck, which appeared to be inoperable.

Regrettably, the driver of the GMC Envoy, a 40-year-old Hatley woman, tragically lost her life at the scene of the accident. As of Sunday morning, the authorities have refrained from releasing her identity, pending notification of her family. It was determined that she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, which may have contributed to the severity of her injuries.
