A Stoughton man was apprehended on Saturday for allegedly shooting a man from Rhode Island whom he had arranged to meet, according to the Stoughton police.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Marc Francois, is facing multiple charges, including assault and battery with a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and armed robbery, as stated by the Stoughton police in an official statement.

The incident took place on Saturday when the Stoughton police received a 911 call reporting shots fired near the intersection of Central Street and Greenwood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers gathered information about a man seen fleeing the scene and immediately launched a search operation.

The suspect, matching the description provided, was located near a condominium complex, according to the police statement. A firearm was also recovered during the arrest.

Meanwhile, another individual with a gunshot wound had admitted himself to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. After further investigation, it was determined that the shooting had occurred in Stoughton.

Marc Francois is scheduled to appear for arraignment at Stoughton District Court on Tuesday, as mentioned in the police statement. He has been ordered to be held on $500,000 cash bail.
