Mayfield, Kentucky Man Arrested for Assault After Woman Hospitalized

MAYFIELD, Ky. – A man from Mayfield, Kentucky is facing assault charges following an incident that left a woman hospitalized on Sunday morning.

According to the Mayfield Police Department, officers responded to a distress call at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center Emergency Room on December 24. The victim, a woman, was receiving treatment for injuries that were consistent with an assault.

Upon further investigation, law enforcement officials observed various signs of physical abuse, including extensive bruising, scrapes, and burns on the victim’s body.

The suspect has been identified as 48-year-old Fred Jackson, a resident of Mayfield, Kentucky. Jackson was promptly taken into custody by the authorities.

Jackson now faces charges of fourth-degree assault, specifically categorized as domestic violence with minor injury, as well as violation of conditions of release.

Following his arrest, Jackson was transported to the Fulton County Jail where he will remain detained pending further legal proceedings.
