PAYSON, Utah: One Dead and Another Injured in Domestic Violence Incident

PAYSON, Utah (ABC4) – A tragic domestic violence incident in Payson on Friday night has left one man dead and another seriously injured, according to the Payson Police.

The incident occurred on December 22, just before midnight, in the area of 500 North 600 East. Officers responded to a report of an ongoing domestic violence situation.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the lifeless body of a man in the basement of the residence. The victim had suffered multiple lacerations to his head, which ultimately proved fatal.

Meanwhile, another man was found inside the home, also with severe injuries. He had sustained multiple lacerations to his head and shoulder. Emergency services rushed him to Mountain View Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

According to the Payson Police, a third male was located in the upper portion of the house. This individual was identified as the suspect and was promptly taken into custody.

Investigation and Arrest

During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the suspect had attacked both men, resulting in the death of one and severe injuries to the other.

Authorities have confirmed that there are no outstanding suspects and no immediate threat to the community.

The investigation into this tragic incident is still ongoing, and the names of those involved will not be released at this time.

The suspect has been booked into Utah County Jail on charges of aggravated murder and attempted murder.

The Payson Police expressed their condolences, stating, “Our hearts go out to the victim’s family who lost their loved one and all those affected during this senseless act of violence.”
