Upon receiving the information, responding officers promptly located the suspect’s vehicle leaving the area, which initiated a pursuit that eventually led them to Santa Ana.

However, the suspect exhibited no intention of stopping, resulting in a high-stakes chase through the streets of Santa Ana, as stated by the police.

The pursuit reached its climax when the suspect crashed the van in Santa Ana and made an attempt to flee on foot.

The Irvine Police Department collaborated with the Anaheim Police Department’s helicopter, named “Angel,” which played a pivotal role in tracking the suspect’s movements. The assistance provided by the airborne unit greatly aided the officers in locating and apprehending the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Luiz Ortiz from Santa Ana.

Following a foot pursuit, Ortiz was successfully apprehended and taken into custody. Subsequent investigation revealed that the van he was driving had been reported stolen in Santa Ana, unbeknownst to the authorities.

Remarkably, the stolen van contained the victim’s property, which was linked to the earlier reported burglary.
