According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal crash took place at approximately 5:45 p.m., roughly 25 miles west of Dell City and 8 miles west of Cornudas, just outside El Paso. The collision occurred when a pickup truck traveling westbound on U.S. 62 attempted to overtake another vehicle along a two-way undivided section of the highway, as stated by DPS. Tragically, this truck collided head-on with the pickup truck driven by Laura Caroline Lynch, who resided in Fort Worth. The impact of the crash proved fatal for Lynch, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
