Sparks Police Arrest Suspect for Assault with a Deadly Weapon at Raley’s Supermarket
Sparks Police have apprehended a suspect on Saturday morning following an incident involving assault with a deadly weapon. The incident took place at the Raley’s Supermarket, located near the intersection of North McCarran Boulevard and Pyramid Way, at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers were met by a distressed delivery driver who recounted the harrowing encounter with the suspect, later identified as Charles Macaluso. The delivery driver reported that Macaluso aggressively approached him multiple times, brandishing a knife in a threatening manner.
Fortunately, a brave witness intervened, causing Macaluso to flee the scene. The Sparks Police Department, in a press release, confirmed the heroic act of the witness in preventing further harm.
Officers swiftly initiated a search operation and successfully located Macaluso. Astonishingly, he was still in possession of the menacing knife when confronted by law enforcement.
Without any resistance, Macaluso was safely taken into custody by the officers. However, during the subsequent investigation, it was discovered that Macaluso was not only involved in the assault but was also found in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Consequently, Macaluso now faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
