Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with an ongoing investigation into the sexual exploitation of minors in the United States.

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operation Unit initiated the investigation on December 15. The authorities discovered that Chanda Smith, a resident of Columbus, Georgia, had been soliciting money from an individual identified as Craig Livingston from Cortland, New York, in exchange for explicit photographs of underage children.

According to the sheriff’s office, Smith and Livingston had been negotiating for Smith to transport the children to New York on New Year’s Day.

Investigation details revealed that Livingston intended to sexually assault the children during their trip.

Arrest warrants were issued for both Smith and Livingston based on the findings of the investigation.

Livingston was apprehended by the Cortland Police Department on December 21, while Smith was arrested by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office on December 22.

Both individuals, Smith and Livingston, are facing charges of two counts of felony human trafficking for sexual servitude, two counts of felony sexual exploitation of a child, and two counts of felony use of a communication facility to commit a felony.
