“68-Year-Old Roger Guyton Arrested for Murder of 58-Year-Old Woman in Victorville”

Victorville, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An arrest has been made in connection with a murder investigation in a residential neighborhood near the Green Tree Golf course in Victorville.

The incident occurred on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at around 4:17 am, when deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a report of a deceased female at a residence on Wimbleton Drive in Victorville, California. The home is located in the 16000 block of Wimbleton Drive, near Arrowhead Drive. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the lifeless body of a woman inside the house, who had suffered from gunshot wounds.

The murder investigation was subsequently taken over by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail. Detectives from the homicide team and two Crime Scientific Investigation trucks were dispatched to the location to gather evidence and further investigate the incident, as reported in a previous article by VVNG.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 68-year-old Roger Guyton, a resident of Victorville. According to the investigation conducted by the Homicide Detail, Roger Guyton was present in the bedroom with the victim at the time of the shooting. Two other occupants in the house heard the gunshots and immediately contacted emergency services by dialing 9-1-1.

The victim, a 58-year-old female resident of Victorville, has been positively identified by the authorities. However, her name is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin, as per the announcement made by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Following the investigation, Roger Guyton was arrested and subsequently booked at the High Desert Detention Center, where he currently remains in custody without the option for bail.
