Tragic Discovery: Two Youths Found Dead near Indian Border in Rajshahi

Police have recovered the lifeless bodies of two young individuals near the border between India and Bangladesh in Godagari, Rajshahi.

The bodies were found in the Char Hanumantnagar area of Char Ashariadah Union in the upazila at approximately 10 am on Saturday, December 23.

The deceased have been identified as Kawsar Ali, an 18-year-old son of Shukuddi from Char Kanapara area in Godagari upazila, and Mosharraf Hossain, a 19-year-old son of Atiqul Islam.

Abdul Motin, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajshahi’s Godagari Model Police Station, confirmed the incident to Banglanews.

According to OC Abdul Motin, on December 19, a group of Bangladeshis attempted to illegally cross the border into Chennai for agricultural work. The Border Security Force (BSF) of India, suspecting illegal entry, pursued them.

While most of the group managed to escape, Kawsar and Mosharraf went missing. Their bodies were discovered in the Padma River this morning.

Further details will be provided after the completion of the autopsy report. Legal action will be taken in response to this tragic incident.
