Two Men Fatally Shot in Separate Incidents in Thornton and Westminster Parking Lots

Two men lost their lives in separate shootings that took place in parking lots in Thornton and Westminster overnight. The incidents are believed to have originated from heated arguments between individuals involved.

Westminster Shooting

The first shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 8900 block of Harlan Street in Westminster, as reported by the Westminster Police Department. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation, it was revealed that another individual had also been admitted to a hospital in critical condition due to gunshot wounds. Law enforcement officials suspect that multiple men engaged in a dispute in a parking lot, which escalated into gunfire.

Thornton Shooting

A couple of hours later, at approximately 12:50 a.m., a second shooting occurred in the 16000 block of Grant Street in Thornton. The Thornton Police Department shared information via a news release, stating that a “disturbance” erupted between two employees of a local business. One of the individuals involved, identified as Victor Salazar-Guarache, aged 26, allegedly fired shots at a 22-year-old man.

The victim was promptly transported to a hospital, but unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries. Following the incident, Weld County deputies managed to locate and apprehend Salazar-Guarache, who was subsequently booked into the Adams County jail.
