Accident – death – Obituary News : HYDERABAD: A tragic accident occurred in Raidurgam on Friday morning, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old tribal student and injuries to four of his friends. The incident took place when their car overturned due to reckless driving and crashed into a median. Fortunately, all the injured individuals were promptly taken to a nearby hospital, and their condition is now stable and out of danger.

According to the police, the victims were five final year polytechnic diploma students from Jogipet Government Polytechnic College. They had embarked on a trip to Padmanabhagutta in Raidurgam early in the morning, intending to witness the beautiful winter sunrise from atop a hillock. Arriving at the location at 6 am, they enjoyed the scenic view before commencing their return journey at around 7.15 am.

Tragedy struck as the group was driving along the Khajaguda lake road. Due to the driver’s rash and negligent behavior, the car spiraled out of control, colliding with the median. The impact was so severe that the vehicle overturned and one of the passengers, who was seated next to the driver, was thrown out of the car, suffering a fatal head injury. Tragically, the young man, identified as Banoth Sri Ram, 20, from Khammam, lost his life in the accident. It was later discovered that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The remaining occupants of the car, including the driver, Udai Sai, 18, from Chandanagar, as well as Varshith, 18, Vamshi, 19, and their 17-year-old friend, sustained injuries. Fortunately, none of them suffered any fractures. The car involved in the accident belonged to Udai’s father, and the authorities are currently verifying whether Udai possessed a valid driving license. The police confirmed that Udai was not under the influence of alcohol during the incident. The group of friends had come to Udai’s house from their hostel in Jogipet the previous day.

In light of the tragic incident, a case has been registered against the driver under sections 304-A (causing death due to rash or negligent act) and 337 (causing injuries due to rash or negligent act) of the Indian Penal Code.
