Woman Arrested for Biting Paramedic in Harris County, Texas

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman has been taken into custody by the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office after allegedly biting a paramedic who was providing her with medical assistance.

Medical Incident Leads to Arrest

Responding to a welfare check on December 20, deputies from the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office arrived at a residence in the 7100 block of Foxbrick Lane. They discovered Maria Calderon, a woman in need of urgent medical care.

Paramedic Attacked during Treatment

While paramedics were attending to Calderon’s medical needs, an unexpected altercation unfolded. Without warning, Calderon intentionally bit one of the attending paramedics on the arm, causing him pain and discomfort.

Legal Action and Apprehension

Following the incident, Calderon was immediately transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and care. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office promptly contacted the District Attorney’s Office, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.

On December 22, constable deputies returned to the scene on Foxbrick Lane to apprehend Calderon. They successfully executed the warrant and took her into custody without incident.

Charge and Judicial Proceedings

Maria Calderon has since been booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of assault of a public servant. As of now, specific information regarding her bond and court dates has not been released.
