Upon arrival at the scene, officers could hear a heated argument between a male and a female. It was discovered that the male suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jermale Foster, was armed and making threats to harm the female involved.

Despite initial resistance from Foster, law enforcement managed to enter the premises. However, during the confrontation, Foster brandished a firearm and fired a single shot towards one of the officers as he attempted to flee the scene. Fortunately, the round missed the officer and struck a wall inside the residence.

Even after discharging his weapon, Foster continued to wield the gun and resisted officers’ attempts to disarm him. Eventually, officers successfully disarmed Foster, who was found to be in possession of a second loaded gun in his pant pocket.

While Foster sustained minor injuries during the altercation, the 30-year-old female involved in the domestic dispute also suffered minor injuries from a physical altercation with Foster just before the police arrived. Both parties, as well as multiple officers, received treatment for their injuries.

Investigators have revealed that the gun Foster fired was a 40-caliber weapon, equipped with an illegal high-capacity magazine capable of holding 14 rounds. Additionally, a .380 caliber gun with one live round in the chamber and six live rounds in the magazine was discovered. Police also found an extra illegal high-capacity magazine at the scene. Furthermore, Foster was found to be in possession of 4.9 grams of cocaine, packaged for street-level distribution.

Foster is now facing several charges, including interfering with a 911 call, assault, threatening, breach of peace, criminal possession of a firearm, altering or removing identification marks from a firearm, illegal transfer, sale, or delivery of a firearm, illegal possession of a large capacity magazine, interfering with police, and possession of narcotics. He is currently being held on a $1.5 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

It should be noted that Foster is a convicted felon, having been previously charged with carrying a pistol without a permit on December 27, 2017. As a result, he is prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms or ammunition.
