Kylee Cuellar Car Accident: Rossford, Ohio 17-Year-Old Teenager Identified as Victim of Single-Vehicle Crash in Lucas County

A tragic car accident in Spencer Township, Lucas County, Ohio, has claimed the life of a 17-year-old teenager and left two others injured. The victim has been identified as Kylee Cuellar, a resident of Rossford. The incident occurred on Thursday night and was reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash took place on North Crissey Road near Dorr Street at approximately 10 p.m. Sadly, Kylee Cuellar was pronounced dead at the scene. Another teenager, Reid Pearson, 17, from Maumee, sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Additionally, Ava Grycza, 16, also from Maumee, suffered serious injuries and was taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Toledo post revealed that Reid Pearson was behind the wheel of a silver Lincoln MKS at the time of the accident. According to the authorities, Pearson failed to stop at a sign and lost control of the vehicle while attempting to navigate a curve on North Crissey Road. The car veered off the road, collided with a tree, and came to rest against a second tree.

Prior to the crash, the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office had received reports of a speeding vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the accident. A deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Crissey, just north of Airport Highway. However, the pursuit was short-lived, as the deputy received instructions from a supervisor to discontinue the chase.

In an official statement, the sheriff’s office mentioned that it is highly likely that the vehicle pursued by the deputy was the same one involved in the fatal crash. The deputy described the fleeing car as a silver sedan, which he had clocked at 82 mph in a 55-mph zone. During the pursuit, the vehicle managed to outrun the deputy, who was instructed to terminate the chase due to the initial reason for the traffic stop being speeding.

The entire incident is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to gather more information and evidence to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the accident.
