CORYELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic accident that occurred at the intersection of US Highway 84 and Knowles Road in Coryell County.

According to the DPS, the incident took place around 6:15 pm on December 21 when a Dodge Ram truck, traveling eastbound on Highway 84, collided with a Honda Civic.

The crash occurred due to the hazardous road conditions caused by heavy rain, resulting in the Dodge truck hydroplaning and veering into the westbound lane, ultimately colliding with the Honda.

Tragically, the driver of the Honda, identified as 57-year-old Donna Marie Henry from Gatesville, lost her life in the accident. Emergency services pronounced her dead at the scene.

The DPS has already notified the next of kin of the deceased, ensuring that proper procedures are in place to support the grieving family during this difficult time.
