Fargo Police Department Assists in Arresting Suspect with Felony Warrants

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – On Friday, December 22, at approximately 6:07 p.m., the Red River Valley SWAT Team and The Fargo Police Department joined forces with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Street Crimes Unit to execute a search warrant in the 1600 block of 35th Street South.

During a joint investigation, the Fargo Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office successfully located an individual known to have outstanding felony warrants for his arrest. Additionally, the Street Crimes Unit was actively seeking other individuals related to the ongoing investigation when the suspect abruptly took refuge inside an apartment within the vicinity.

Given the suspect’s criminal history, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the highly trained Red River Valley SWAT Team to not only execute the search warrant but also ensure the safe apprehension of the individual.

Upon entering the apartment, law enforcement officers discovered several occupants, including the wanted individual, identified as Amar Kovacevic, a 29-year-old Fargo resident. Remarkably, all parties within the premises cooperated fully with the commands given by the SWAT Team members. Consequently, Kovacevic was taken into custody without incident and subsequently transported to the Cass County Jail to face his open warrants.
