Tragic Accident Claims Life of Founding Member of The Dixie Chicks

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — On the evening of December 22, a devastating head-on collision occurred along U.S. Highway 62 in Hudspeth County, resulting in the untimely death of a prominent figure. Laura Caroline Lynch, a 65-year-old woman from Fort Worth, tragically lost her life in the accident. Authorities have now revealed that Lynch was a founding member of the world-renowned music group, The Dixie Chicks, which has recently been renamed The Chicks.

The incident took place at approximately 5:45 p.m., about 25 miles west of Dell City and 8 miles west of Cornudas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Lynch was driving her pickup truck eastbound on U.S. 62 when another vehicle attempted to overtake her along a two-way undivided section of the highway.
