28-Year-Old Man from Riverton Farm Allegedly Murders Teenager over Laziness Accusations

In a shocking incident that has rocked the community of Riverton Farm in Fort Rixon, Matabeleland South province, a 28-year-old man stands accused of brutally murdering a teenager. Talent Moyo appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube on Thursday, where he was not asked to enter a plea. The accused was subsequently remanded in custody until January 4 for further trial.

The victim, identified as Mncedisi Sibanda, was also a resident of Riverton Farm. According to court papers, the tragic incident unfolded on November 9 when Moyo confronted Sibanda, accusing him of being lazy. The confrontation quickly escalated, leading to Sibanda fleeing in a bid to escape the mounting tension.

However, Moyo managed to catch up with Sibanda and launched a vicious attack. The State alleges that Moyo repeatedly kicked the teenager all over his body, leaving him with severe injuries. To make matters worse, Moyo proceeded to strangle Sibanda, further exacerbating his already deteriorating health condition.

As a result of the assault, Sibanda’s health rapidly declined, prompting his transfer to Filabusi District Hospital on November 27. Tragically, Sibanda succumbed to his injuries on November 29, leading to the arrest of Moyo on December 11.
