According to Deputy J.T. Knotts of the Preston County Sheriff’s Department, he received a distress call from the prison complex regarding the suspicious activities of Sakile Grace Fidderman, a 23-year-old woman from Fort Washington, Md. The surveillance video footage from the visiting room captured Fidderman passing a black package, suspected to contain Suboxone strips, to the inmate using her left hand.

Deputy Knotts immediately initiated an investigation, during which he interviewed Fidderman and reviewed the incriminating surveillance video. Meanwhile, the vigilant staff at Hazelton conducted a thorough search of the vehicle in which Fidderman had arrived. To their dismay, they discovered a bag containing eight packages similar to the one seen in the video.

Upon closer examination, one of the packages was opened, revealing a significant quantity of Suboxone strips. This finding further solidified the suspicions against Fidderman.

In light of these alarming developments, Fidderman has been charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute a schedule III controlled substance. The severity of the charge reflects the gravity of the offense she allegedly committed.

Subsequently, Fidderman appeared for arraignment before Preston County Magistrate Peggy S. Pase. After careful consideration, Magistrate Pase set Fidderman’s bond at an amount of $50,000. In an attempt to deter any future involvement in illicit activities, Magistrate Pase issued a stern warning on Fidderman’s bond, explicitly prohibiting her from using, selling, or possessing any drugs or drug paraphernalia. Furthermore, Fidderman is strictly forbidden from entering the premises of USP Hazelton or being present on the property of the Hazelton prison for any reason.

As of Thursday afternoon, Fidderman remains in custody at Tygart Valley Regional Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings and consequences for her alleged actions.

This incident has not only highlighted the vulnerabilities within the prison system but also emphasizes the need for enhanced security measures to prevent the smuggling of contraband items. The incident serves as a reminder to authorities to remain vigilant and implement stricter protocols to ensure the safety and integrity of correctional facilities.
