Investigation Underway by Local Police

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Law enforcement authorities in Prince William County are currently investigating a tragic incident where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Woodbridge.

According to reports, the incident occurred on December 12 at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Hoadly Rd. and Queen Chapel Dr., prompting an immediate response from the police.

Initial findings suggest that a 2015 Toyota TC was traveling east on Hoadly Rd., approaching an intersection, when it collided with an individual.

According to investigators, the pedestrian was not utilizing a designated crosswalk and was dressed in dark-colored clothing at the time of the accident.

Following the collision, emergency services were summoned, and the injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries on December 21.

The driver of the involved vehicle, identified as a 25-year-old resident of Woodbridge, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities during the investigation.

The pedestrian has been identified as Muhammad Moinuddin Bhuiyan, a 60-year-old resident of Woodbridge.

Local law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation.
