Houston, Texas – In a horrifying incident, an alleged intoxicated driver crashed through a Houston resident’s front yard and forcefully broke into their home seeking help after the vehicle’s passenger tragically lost their life in the wreck. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has reported this distressing event.

According to the HCSO, the driver was recklessly driving at high speeds and soared over a culvert, eventually landing in the front yard of the targeted home. The impact of the crash was so severe that it caused the vehicle to collide with a tree, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Regrettably, the passenger, identified as a woman, succumbed to her injuries at the accident scene. It is a tragic reminder of the devastating consequences that can arise from drunk driving incidents.

Surveillance footage captured the heart-wrenching moment when the vehicle careened into the front yard, violently smashing into the tree, causing significant damage to both the property and the car itself.

After the collision, the HCSO revealed that the driver exited the wrecked vehicle and forcibly entered the home through a window. Overwhelmed by the traumatic events, the driver subsequently collapsed onto a bed, seeking refuge and assistance.

Shockingly, the homeowners were present throughout this harrowing ordeal, which unfolded in the early hours of the morning. The sound of a horrific car crash followed by shattering glass would undoubtedly have caused immense fear and distress.

Sergeant B. Bondurant of the HCSO empathized with the homeowners, stating, “I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been for them at 3 o’clock in the morning, hearing what sounded like a catastrophic car accident followed by the sound of breaking glass. This experience was likely extremely traumatic for them.”

Prior to crashing into the front yard of the property, investigators revealed that the driver had already collided with a business’s premises, causing damage to their construction materials. The sequence of events leading up to the wreck highlights the driver’s reckless behavior and lack of regard for public safety.

According to CBS affiliate KHOU, the driver has been identified as Daniel Alexander Rodriguez-Olivares. Following the crash, Rodriguez-Olivares was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, receiving immediate medical attention for his injuries.

KHOU further reports that Rodriguez-Olivares is now facing charges of intoxication manslaughter, reflecting the severity of the incident and the potential legal consequences he may face.
