Two Suspects Dead After Police Chase in Franklin County, Pennsylvania

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — In a tragic turn of events, a 16-year-old and a 21-year-old lost their lives following a police chase in Franklin County. The suspects were accused of breaking into cars and fled from the police, leading to the pursuit.

Unlawful Car Entries Reported

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred on December 20th at 12:52 a.m. when troopers received a report of two individuals unlawfully entering cars in the 9000 block of Lindale Avenue, Franklin County.

Police Pursuit Ensues

Responding to the complaint, troopers were provided with a description of the suspects’ vehicle and registration plate identifiers. After searching the area, law enforcement officials spotted the suspect’s car traveling on Oellig Road. They attempted a traffic stop, but the suspects refused to comply, initiating a high-speed pursuit.

Dangerous Chase Through Fields and Properties

Despite multiple attempts by the Pennsylvania State Police to halt the fleeing vehicle, the suspects continued their escape. The car veered off the road and careened through numerous farm fields and properties, endangering both the suspects and innocent bystanders.

Tragic Conclusion in a Body of Water

During the chase, the suspects’ car drove over a steep embankment and ultimately came to a rest in a body of water. The impact proved fatal for both individuals inside the vehicle. EMS and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene to assist the Pennsylvania State Police, but they were unable to save the suspects.

Victims Identified

The driver, a 16-year-old from Hagerstown, Md., remains unidentified due to legal restrictions on naming minors. However, the passenger has been named as 21-year-old Robert Wade Norwood, also from Hagerstown.
