21-Year-Old Fatally Shot During Failed Armed Robbery at Illegal Cannabis Farm in California

Authorities in California have revealed that a 21-year-old individual lost their life in a tragic incident after they, along with at least two accomplices, attempted an armed robbery at an illegal marijuana plantation. Instead of successfully carrying out their plan, the group found themselves on the receiving end of gunfire.

The San Francisco Police Department was alerted on August 4 when an individual claimed to have hidden a body inside a U-Haul vehicle. Subsequently, the deceased was identified as Alexander Licona-Romero, an Oakland resident, according to a press release issued by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

Further investigations unveiled that the caller had accompanied Licona-Romero and another suspect with the intention of carrying out a robbery at an unlicensed cannabis farm. Tragically, Licona-Romero was shot and killed during the botched heist.

Following the shooting, the two individuals transported Licona-Romero’s lifeless body back to the Bay Area before ultimately depositing it at a police station in Bayview, as reported by the San Francisco Standard.

In November, two individuals named Harold Rodriguez-Blanco, aged 24, and Graciela Buenrostromendoza, aged 31, were apprehended and charged in connection with the failed robbery. Both face charges of attempted robbery, kidnapping, and false imprisonment, all of which are classified as felonies.

At present, it remains uncertain whether the individual responsible for shooting Licona-Romero will also face legal consequences. However, the sheriff’s office emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are expected in the future.
