Man Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Rose City Shopping Center

North Little Rock police have apprehended a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting that took place outside the Rose City Shopping Center late Wednesday evening, according to an official news release issued on Thursday.

The incident was reported when a man flagged down officers at approximately 11:41 p.m. on Wednesday, claiming to have been robbed at gunpoint outside the shopping center located at 4109 E. Broadway.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered an individual who matched the description provided by the robbery victim. The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Nathan Whitmore, a resident of North Little Rock.

While some officers were engaged in questioning Whitmore, their colleagues stumbled upon a wounded man in the parking lot. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital. The authorities have chosen not to disclose the identity of the deceased as of Thursday.

The alleged perpetrator, Nathan Whitmore, is now facing charges of capital murder, attempted capital murder, and aggravated robbery. He is currently held at the Pulaski County jail without the possibility of posting bond.
