On Tuesday, King County authorities announced that they have finally identified the remains as those of Lori Anne Razpotnik. Razpotnik, a teenager who ran away from her family’s home in Lewis County, south of Seattle, in 1982, had not been seen by her family since that time.
Discovery of the remains
Razpotnik’s remains were found in December 1985 near a second set of remains, referred to as Bones 16, in the city of Auburn. The discovery occurred when police were called to investigate a car over an embankment, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
The involvement of the Green River Task Force
The Green River Task Force was assigned to oversee the investigation; however, the remains remained unidentified for many years, as stated in the official release.
