High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash Near Manchester’s Mall of New Hampshire

Manchester Mall of New Hampshire

MANCHESTER — A routine traffic stop turned into a gripping high-speed chase that came to a crashing halt near the Mall of New Hampshire late Tuesday night, resulting in the apprehension of two individuals.

Around 11:15 p.m. on December 19, Trooper Moran from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B pulled over a speeding vehicle on the Exit 1 off-ramp of Interstate 293.

As Trooper Moran approached the car to engage the driver in conversation, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and fled onto S. Willow Street, triggering a brief pursuit.

The intensity of the chase escalated rapidly when the fleeing vehicle veered onto the access road of the Mall of New Hampshire, driving against oncoming traffic.

In a disastrous turn of events, the vehicle collided with another motorist who was making a left turn into the mall parking lot.

The suspects’ vehicle spun out of control and collided with another stationary car at the intersection.

With their crashed vehicle now immobile, two men hastily exited and sprinted towards the entrance of the mall.

However, the passenger was promptly apprehended by Trooper Moran shortly after the crash, while the driver surrendered to additional troopers and a K-9 team near the Macy’s building a short while later.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 21-year-old Avian Farrell, and the passenger as 18-year-old Ra King Santiago, both residents of Manchester. Remarkably, it was discovered that both individuals had multiple outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Due to the warrants and their involvement in the recent incident, Farrell and Santiago have been detained on preventative measures and now face additional charges, including Reckless Conduct, Disobeying an Officer, and Resisting Arrest.

Following the crash, both Farrell and Santiago were transported to local hospitals to receive medical attention for their injuries sustained during the collision.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the other motorists involved in the incident.

The two suspects are scheduled to appear in court at Hillsborough Superior Court later this morning.
