The victims have been identified as Ismael A. Rodriguez, a 21-year-old resident of Goose Creek, and Jose Nieto, a 15-year-old from North Charleston. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office received a distressing call at approximately 9:30 a.m., reporting the sound of gunfire and the sight of a man lying lifeless in the roadway at College Park Road in Summer Creek Mobile Home Park. Responding swiftly to the distress call, deputies arrived at the scene only to discover the bodies of Rodriguez and Nieto, creating an unimaginably tragic and gut-wrenching tableau that has sent shockwaves throughout the community.

Chief Deputy Jeremy Baker, in a statement to News 4, revealed that preliminary findings strongly indicate a shooting as the cause of death.
