Teenager in Tompkins County Makes Progress After Tragic Car Accident

An 18-year-old resident of Tompkins County, Daniel “Ty” Beeman, is displaying positive signs of recovery following a devastating car crash that occurred ten days ago.

Beeman, who was driving a Toyota Yaris, was involved in a multi-vehicle collision that tragically claimed the life of his 17-year-old passenger, Peyton Shaw, from Waverly.

According to the latest update from Mansfield University, Beeman’s condition has stabilized, and he is now receiving treatment at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

The other drivers involved in the accident underwent on-site medical examinations and were subsequently discharged without the need for hospitalization.
