Arrest Made in Connection to Fatal Shooting on Minnesota Avenue, SE

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has recently announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on the 14th of November on the 1900 block of Minnesota Avenue, SE.
According to official MPD documents, officers on duty were alerted to the location following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman with gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.
The victim has been identified as Nakysia Rachael Lemon-Williams, a 26-year-old woman.
On the 20th of December, the authorities arrested 24-year-old Yazmin Owens on charges of first-degree premeditated murder while armed.
