Woman Seriously Injured in Falmouth After Being Struck by Pickup Truck

FALMOUTH, Mass. — An investigation is underway in Falmouth after a 67-year-old woman was struck and seriously injured while crossing a busy street on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred at around 4:09 p.m. near the intersection of Post Office Road and Main Street.

According to witnesses at the scene, a Chevy pickup truck was making a left-hand turn from Post Office Road when it collided with the woman who was walking in the crosswalk. The Falmouth Police were immediately notified and responded to the incident.

The victim, who is a resident of Florida currently living in Falmouth, was transported to Falmouth Hospital for initial treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to a regional trauma center via medical helicopter.

The driver of the Chevy pickup truck, identified as a 19-year-old Falmouth resident, remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, according to officials from the Falmouth Police Department.
