20-Year-Old Arrested After Allegedly Brandishing Gun in Road Rage Incident
BOISE, Idaho — A 20-year-old man from Nampa, Idaho, was taken into custody by the Boise Police Department following a road rage incident where he allegedly displayed a firearm to another driver who honked at him. The incident took place on North Eagle Road near West Wainwright Drive on a late Tuesday morning, according to the Boise Police Department.
The victim reported that he honked at the suspect after witnessing him speeding, changing lanes aggressively, and tailgating other vehicles on the road. In response to the honk, the suspect pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle at a stop light and proceeded to grab a gun. Boise Police stated that the accused individual then pointed the firearm at the roof of his vehicle and gestured for the victim to follow him.
Fortunately, the victim quickly dialed 911, causing the suspect to drive away. The victim provided a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle to the authorities, leading officers to locate and apprehend the suspect later. During the investigation, law enforcement found the firearm believed to have been used in the incident.
The suspect, identified as Julian Maksout of Nampa, was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail. He is now facing charges of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, as reported by the Boise Police Department.
