An 18-year-old man has been apprehended by the Santa Rosa Police Department on Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting that took place at an apartment complex in Santa Rosa. The victim, a 34-year-old man also from Santa Rosa, tragically lost his life in the incident.

Authorities swiftly responded to a distress call made by a man claiming to have fired a gun at someone. The incident took place at the 800 block of Yulupa Avenue around 8:47 a.m. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found the suspect, identified as Troy Henry, 18, of Santa Rosa, without any weapons. Henry was promptly taken into custody without any resistance.

The victim was discovered lifeless inside one of the apartments and was subsequently pronounced dead at a local hospital. Out of respect for the grieving family, the police are refraining from disclosing the victim’s identity until they have been notified.

Following the shooting, Santa Rosa Police Department detectives executed a search warrant at the apartment where the tragic incident occurred. During the search, crucial evidence pertaining to the shooting was uncovered. While Henry resided in the apartment, the victim did not.

Argument Turns Deadly

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the victim had been visiting Henry’s roommates when a heated argument ensued between him and Henry at approximately 8:30 a.m. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, tragically culminating in Henry firing a fatal shot at the victim.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Henry had unlawfully modified a handgun with a Glock “switch,” an illegal mechanism that effectively converted the weapon into a fully automatic machine gun. Consequently, Henry now faces charges of murder, discharging a firearm causing death, and possession of a machine gun.

If convicted, Henry could face severe legal consequences for his alleged actions.
