SAN DIEGO — In a major breakthrough, three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred last year in the Mountain View neighborhood. The suspects, identified as Oshea Jones, Leashaye Turman, and Haben Haile, were apprehended by the San Diego Police Department, according to a news release by Lt. Adam Sharki.

The shooting, which authorities have determined to be gang-related, took place on the afternoon of February 15, 2022, at 3600 Ocean View Boulevard. The incident sent shockwaves through the community and prompted an extensive investigation by law enforcement.

The victim, Jimmie Lee Roberts III, a 27-year-old man, was found lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Tragically, Roberts succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The loss of Roberts was deeply felt by his loved ones and the local community.

The sequence of events leading up to the shooting unfolded near Mike’s Market, where Roberts and another individual, Dion Harrison, aged 54, were standing. According to the San Diego Police Department, the three suspects approached Roberts and Harrison and opened fire on them. Both victims were struck by bullets, with Roberts collapsing on the ground and Harrison managing to flee the scene. Harrison was later transported to a hospital in a private vehicle and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the area, leaving the community in fear and mourning. However, the relentless efforts of law enforcement eventually led to their capture. On Monday, Oshea Jones was apprehended in the 700 block of Third Avenue in downtown San Diego. Meanwhile, Leashaye Turman and Haben Haile were already in County Jail for unrelated offenses and were subsequently booked on murder charges.
