NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three juveniles have been apprehended by authorities a week after they allegedly escaped a treatment facility and carjacked a woman at knifepoint in West Nashville.

Following their escape, the boys reportedly walked about six miles before coming across a gas station. It was there that they seized the opportunity to steal an SUV that had been left running with the keys inside.

The next day, on Wednesday, December 13, authorities were alerted to an incident involving a woman who had been carjacked in a West Nashville parking garage. The three suspects approached the woman and demanded her 2007 Lexus GS350 while brandishing a knife. One of the suspects then drove off in the stolen vehicle, while the other two made their escape on foot.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department swiftly launched an investigation into the incident. On Wednesday night, the 12-year-old suspect was apprehended at the Greyhound bus station on 5th Avenue South. An officer from the Central Precinct recognized the individual from the description provided and made the arrest. The 12-year-old was found to be in possession of a Lexus car key and a knife, and was wearing the same clothing as described by the victim. He has since been charged with aggravated robbery in Juvenile Court.

Investigators discovered the victim’s Lexus abandoned at the Family Dollar store on Jefferson Street the same day. The stolen vehicle had sustained significant body damage and a blown tire.

Allen was subsequently brought to Nashville, where during a police interview, he allegedly placed himself at the scene of the carjacking.

Finally, just after 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, a week after the carjacking incident, 16-year-old James Turner surrendered to authorities in Nashville. He was subsequently booked into a juvenile detention center. Additional details regarding the surrender were not immediately released.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of security measures in treatment facilities and the need for continued efforts to address juvenile crime. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department will continue to investigate the incident and work towards ensuring the safety of the community.
