Pineville, KY Man Identified as Victim in Motorcycle Accident

Tragic Motorcycle vs. Car Collision Claims the Life of Jamie Wilder

On Tuesday night, December 19, 2023, tragedy struck in Pineville as a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Old Bell High Road. The Bell County Dispatch received an alarming call around 6:15pm, reporting a collision between a motorcycle and a car.

The accident drew a swift response from Bell County law enforcement authorities. Bell County Sgt. Frank Foster, along with Chief Deputy Jared Smith, Deputies Austin Poindexter and Samson Churchwell, and Chaplain Rick Dorton, rushed to the scene. Additionally, Bell EMS and the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to provide assistance.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the sheriff deputies revealed that the motorcyclist, identified as 43-year-old Jamie Wilder from Pineville, tragically lost control of his bike on the roadway. As a result, the motorcycle skidded into an oncoming car, catching fire upon impact. Fortunately, the 18-year-old female driver of the car remained unharmed and played no role in causing the accident.

Despite immediate CPR efforts, Jamie Wilder succumbed to his injuries due to the severity of the collision. Bell County Deputy Coroner Jason Steele was summoned to the scene and officially pronounced Wilder deceased.

This devastating incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of motorcycle accidents and the importance of road safety. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the exact cause and any contributing factors.
