Accident – Death – Obituary News : The dismembered body found in a California dumpster has been identified as Mei Li Haskell, the missing wife of Samuel Haskell IV, the son of a renowned Hollywood executive. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner positively identified Mei’s body on Monday, recording her death as November 8, the same day a torso was discovered in a dumpster in Encino. The official record states that Mei’s place of death was a parking lot.

The headless torso has now been confirmed to be that of Mei Haskell. However, the precise details of how officials determined Mei’s cause of death have not been disclosed. Mei’s parents, Gaoshan Li, 72, and Yanxiang Wang, 64, who are Chinese nationals, are still reported as missing.

Samuel Haskell IV, 35, was arrested on the day the torso was found, following statements from day laborers who claimed that Haskell had hired them to dispose of heavy trash bags, which they suspected contained body parts. Haskell IV was allegedly caught on camera disposing of the body in the dumpster. During a subsequent search of his home, police discovered evidence that pointed to a gruesome crime.

During a recent court appearance on December 8, Samuel Haskell IV appeared shirtless as Velcro straps on his special gown came undone. The heavily tattooed 35-year-old, who was under suicide watch, was expected to enter a plea during the hearing. However, LA Superior Court Judge Kimberley Baker Guillemet decided to postpone the arraignment and plea until January 12 at the request of Haskell’s new attorney, Joseph Weimortz, who cited the need for more time to familiarize himself with the case.

Prosecutors allege that the day after the murders, Haskell hired four day laborers to clear black trash bags from his home in the Los Angeles area. One of the workers claimed he was paid $500 to dispose of three large trash bags. Initially, Haskell informed them that the bags contained rocks, but later claimed they were Halloween props when confronted about the body parts inside. The workers, realizing they had been deceived, promptly returned both the bags and the money to Haskell’s home before notifying law enforcement.

Samuel Haskell IV is the son of Samuel Haskell III, a former executive vice-president and worldwide head of television for the talent agency William Morris Endeavor. Haskell III represented esteemed clients such as Dolly Parton, George Clooney, Whoopi Goldberg, and Prince Edward, the brother of King Charles.
