Alex Goines Jr., a 34-year-old man, was sentenced to eight years in state prison after being found guilty of armed robbery. His arrest took place on January 4, 2022, as a suspect in the armed robbery of Boost Mobile in Manitowoc, which occurred on December 30, 2021. During the investigation, the police discovered electronics with serial numbers matching those stolen from Boost Mobile, as well as clothing matching the suspect’s description, multiple firearms, and cash at Goines’ residence. Furthermore, a significant quantity of cocaine packaged for sale was found inside a safe in his bedroom. Goines faced multiple charges, including armed robbery, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of a firearm while convicted of a felony, false imprisonment, and bail jumping. Ultimately, he was convicted of armed robbery, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of a firearm while convicted of a felony, and false imprisonment. The remaining charges were dismissed during a plea hearing. Goines received a concurrent sentence of eight years in state prison for armed robbery, three years for possession of cocaine, four years for possession of a firearm, and three years for false imprisonment.

Kristine A. Jordan and Samantha L. Jordan, a mother and daughter, were both convicted of felony chronic neglect of a child. They were sentenced to five years of probation. The charges against them stemmed from their failure to seek immediate medical assistance for Samantha’s 3-week-old daughter, which put the infant’s life at risk. The child had several life-threatening medical conditions, including signs of dehydration, as suspected by an emergency room doctor. On January 12, 2022, the infant was taken to Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc after Kristine, the grandmother, noticed that the baby had not woken up or soiled a diaper since the previous afternoon. The arrests of both women took place on January 14, 2022. They were charged with neglecting a child causing great bodily harm. Kristine also faced a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, which was later dismissed. As part of their probation, both women are prohibited from having contact with the victim, unless approved by the guardians, the court, the Manitowoc County Department of Human Services, and the probation agent.

Lavell L. Nance, a 39-year-old individual, received three years of probation for possessing designer drugs with the intent to sell. Nance’s arrest occurred on November 10, 2022, as part of an investigation into the death of a 3-year-old child. Catherine D. Carter, the child’s mother, was also arrested and faces multiple counts of child neglect, with her case still ongoing. Nance faced charges of possessing designer drugs with intent to sell, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The last two charges were dismissed. Nance’s sentence was withheld, and he was placed on three years of probation.

Eleazar Camacho-Perez

Eleazar Camacho-Perez, a 33-year-old man, was sentenced to 30 days in the Manitowoc County Jail after being convicted of first-degree endangering safety. His arrest took place on June 7, 2022, following a report received by the Manitowoc Police Department regarding an armed man attempting to break into a residence on Johnston Drive. As the police arrived at the scene, they heard multiple gunshots fired by Camacho-Perez outside the home. The Manitowoc County SWAT Team assisted in evacuating the residents and their children from the house, while neighbors were instructed to temporarily leave their homes until Camacho-Perez was apprehended a few hours later. Camacho-Perez faced charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety with the use of a weapon, second-degree recklessly endangering safety with the use of a weapon, and two counts of disorderly conduct with the use of a weapon. All charges, except the first one, were dismissed. Camacho-Perez was sentenced to 30 days in county jail, which was deemed as time already served while awaiting the conclusion of his court case.

These recent criminal cases in Manitowoc County Circuit Court have reached their resolutions, with each defendant facing appropriate consequences for their actions. The community can now move forward, knowing that justice has been served.
