Man Arrested for Murder After Body Found in Northeast Tallahassee

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office has recently announced the arrest of a man in connection with the murder of another man whose body was discovered in Northeast Tallahassee. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Artez Moore, and the suspect accused of killing him is Anthony Jenkins.

According to the latest news release from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, on November 21, 2023, arrest warrants were obtained for 23-year-old Anthony Jenkins, a resident of Columbus, GA. The Violent Crimes Detectives of LCSO, with the assistance of various law enforcement agencies, successfully apprehended Jenkins with the help of the United States Marshals Services. Currently, Jenkins is being held in custody at the Muscogee County Jail, awaiting extradition to Leon County. He is facing charges of 1st-degree murder and kidnapping to facilitate felony.

On November 9, around 9:30 a.m., deputies from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the 400 block of Cedar Hill Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of an adult male near the boat landing area.

An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was homicide, and the victim was identified as 22-year-old Artez Moore.
