Man Apprehended Following Truck Theft and Collision

In a concerning incident, authorities in Pulaski County successfully arrested a man who had reportedly stolen a woman’s truck and subsequently collided with another vehicle. The swift action of the Pulaski County deputies led to the apprehension of the suspect.

The victim immediately contacted the deputies on Monday morning to report the theft of her GMC truck. Providing crucial information, she informed them about the location of her stolen vehicle. Upon approaching the scene, the deputies witnessed the suspect, later identified as Justin Potts, aged 37, attempting to flee in the stolen truck. In doing so, he recklessly collided with the victim’s other vehicle, as detailed in the official arrest report.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, the woman’s 11-year-old son was present in the vehicle that was struck during the incident, further heightening the concern for the safety of innocent bystanders.

Reacting swiftly, the deputies initiated a pursuit of Potts, which lasted for a short distance. However, the suspect ultimately lost control of the stolen truck, veering off the road before fleeing into the nearby woods. The deputies, undeterred, successfully apprehended Potts at approximately 9 a.m. The exact location of the arrest has been withheld from the official document.

As a result of his actions, Potts now faces serious charges, including two counts of felony aggravated assault, as well as one count each of fleeing in a vehicle and theft by receiving. At the time of writing, he remains in custody at the Pulaski County jail, as indicated by the online inmate roster on Tuesday evening.

North Little Rock Man Arrested for Assault with Metal Pipe

A disturbing incident unfolded in North Little Rock, resulting in the arrest of an individual accused of brutally assaulting another man with a metal pipe. The swift response from the North Little Rock police led to the identification and apprehension of the suspect.

The officers were alerted to the incident around 7 p.m. on Monday, responding promptly to a distress call reporting an injured man screaming at 800 E. Washington Ave. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered a victim who had suffered severe head injuries, along with injuries to his arms and hands, allegedly caused by a man wielding a metal pipe, according to an arrest report.

The following morning, law enforcement officials returned to the vicinity to search for the metal pipe believed to have been used in the assault. Additionally, they aimed to review surveillance footage in order to identify a possible suspect.

During their search, the officers encountered Charles Porter, aged 38, near 116 S. Pine St. Remarkably, Porter was wearing attire that closely resembled that of the individual captured in the video footage. The arrest report identifies Porter as a homeless resident of North Little Rock.

After duly informing Porter of his rights, the officers presented him with a still frame extracted from the surveillance footage. Initially, Porter made conflicting statements, first indicating that he was the individual depicted in the image, and subsequently denying any involvement. Following comprehensive interrogation and further investigation, the police arrested Porter in connection with the brutal assault.

Porter now faces a felony charge of first-degree battery and is currently being held at the Pulaski County jail, as evidenced by the online inmate roster on Tuesday evening.
