A devastating incident occurred on Tuesday evening, resulting in the loss of a man’s life after being struck by a pickup truck on Route 9 in Berlin, as confirmed by state police.

The victim has been identified as Damian Liberda, a 42-year-old resident of Berlin. The unfortunate incident took place on Route 9 South, specifically in the vicinity of Exit 33. At approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Mr. Liberda was walking in the far right lane when a Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 37-year-old man from West Haven, collided with him, according to the Connecticut State Police.

Due to the impact, Damian Liberda sustained severe injuries, and despite the immediate response from emergency services, he was pronounced deceased at the scene, state police reported.
