Two Men Arrested in Connection to Death of Athens Man

ATHENS, Ga. — The Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD) announced on Tuesday that Andre Carthens, 46, and Antion Parks, 31, have been arrested in connection to the death of Jarrard Pittard, a 42-year-old Athens man. Both Carthens and Parks are facing charges of malice murder.

The arrests were made on December 19 following an investigation into the death of Pittard, whose body was discovered on December 3 in the vicinity of North Avenue and Willow Street. Authorities responded to reports of a deceased person and found Pittard’s body near a railroad track.
