Man Arrested in New York for Near-Fatal Stabbing on CT Transit Bus in Stamford
A suspect believed to be responsible for a near-fatal stabbing incident on a CT Transit bus in Stamford, Connecticut, has been apprehended in New York, according to local authorities.

The Stabbing Incident
On November 20th, at around 1:30 p.m., Stamford patrol officers promptly responded to a bus stop located in front of 1930 W. Main St., following reports of a man being stabbed in the chest on a CT Transit bus, as stated by the Stamford Police Department.
Witnesses at the scene informed the police that the CT Transit bus had stopped at the bus stop when the alleged assailant boarded and engaged in an argument with the victim. The altercation escalated, and the suspect reportedly extracted an unidentified object from his coat pocket, proceeding to stab the victim in the chest.
Immediately following the incident, the suspect fled the scene, leaving the victim, a 25-year-old man, in critical condition. Stamford EMS provided immediate medical attention and transported the victim to Stamford Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. The victim remained in the intensive care unit for several days and is currently in the process of recovering from his injuries, according to authorities.
Identification and Arrest
Following a thorough investigation conducted by the Stamford Police Major Crimes Unit, the suspect was identified as 29-year-old Olajuwon Raheem Clarke, a homeless individual who was already known to investigators due to previous incidents.

An arrest warrant for Clarke was obtained from Stamford Superior Court. On December 5th, he was apprehended in Brooklyn, New York, and subsequently held at Rikers Island as a fugitive from justice, as confirmed by Stamford police.
On December 19th, Clarke was handed over to Stamford investigators and transported back to Connecticut. He has been charged with first-degree assault, breach of peace, and possession of a dangerous instrument. Currently, Clarke is in the custody of the Stamford Police Department and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

In a press release, Stamford Captain Thomas Scanlon expressed his gratitude towards the Stamford EMS and Stamford Hospital staff for their swift and specialized care, which undoubtedly played a significant role in saving the victim’s life.
